Description

A series of asteroids have struck earth and out planet explodes before our eyes.

Certain elements modelled in Lightwave. Some of the explosions were also rendered in Lightwave.
Everything was then imported into Photoshop and put together for the final piece.

If anyone has any tips for colour correcting the piece or anything else feel free to leave a note below!

though that asteroid in top right corner looks weird but hey, I don't know what asteroids REALLY look like...

That's an awesome piece. Your explosion are really sharp. As far as color correction what I often do is to pick a color from the image that I want as my main color. I create a new layer with the blending mode set as "color" then fill it. I set the transparency around 25 to 50% and I erase the part where I don't want the original color to be affected.

Very nice, one small suggestion though. The top left is pretty empty. To fill up the void maybe put a small moon or some rings around the planet.

Wow, nice. Reminds me of the Genesis planet in Star Trek II. I think the blue could be toned down a bit; that much fire doesn't leave a lot of atmosphere behind

Love the colours and textures on the planet-really gorgeous and multi-layered. not so keen on the space outside it, may be better with more contrast or sumthin
